Chris does anything and everything adventure-wise. He loves traveling and new experiences. He rarely leads the same trip twice, always looking for a new adventure or location to experience and explore. Organization, photography, and cooking are Chris' other strengths, so expect to be well informed, photographed, and fed on his trips. Chris also loves to backpack internationally and manages to take off long stretches from his job. Recent extended trips have included Haiti, India, and Ethiopia.

Derek is a True Adventures regular from way back in the beginning, recently taking the plunge into leading trips. Mountain climbing, rafting, ice climbing, rock climbing you name it, Derek's game! You'll often find him on the 100 foot climbing wall at Lakeshore Athletic Club downtown showing off his vertical skills.
Drew Gilliam
Drew is our utterly fearless mountain bike leader. He travels the planet, wakeboards, rock climbs and recently began an enormous new adventure with the birth of his new daughter.
Gretchen Schmidt
Gretchen lived in Fiji for a year. 'Nuf said. Tough to have more fun packed into one person - you can almost see it bursting out at the seams if you look closely. Never a moment passes when Gretchen isn't dreaming up some new way to show her giant circle of friends another fabulous time. Scuba diving, solo overnight survival journeys in the jungle, winter camping, sailing, capsizing dinghys with four fully clothed and i-phoned people aboard - this is your girl.
Leah Maier
Leah rocks the world and took us sea kayaking in the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior in late summer. Spectacular trip. Leah grew up in rural Iowa and hunts, camps, hikes, sails, rafts, and is up for anything remotely cool. If it isn't cool it will be when she's done with it.
Miranda Quanstrum
Miranda defines adventure. She lives for rock climbing and taking trips. You can tell how well-loved a person is by the number of nicknames. One memorable one of hers is OAB which stands for one-armed-bandit. She took a fall while climbing and broke her elbow. And she continued to climb, cast and all. Her trips are a blast, fun and easy-going and lots of comraderie.
Ryan Weaver
Weaver is our chief sea kayaking man. And hiking and backcountry skiing expert. And telemark skier extraordinaire. An excellent time on his meticuloously researched and planned trips is almost a guarantee.
Stephen Maier
Stephen is a force of nature. He does everything there is that is cool and when he ran out he started making stuff up. Like crashing his wife's party the night before their wedding in a full body spandex suit with his buddies in tow.
Tom Trimmer
Tom is our illustrious founder. He leads any kind of trip we do. He teaches rock climbing part time and charters out his sailboat in the summer. Rock climbing, Himalayan mountaineering, sailboat racing, ice climbing, mountain biking and anything outdoors are his passions. He's been to 41 countries and to the high points of twenty states.
